What A Lovely Surprise!

Today, I decided to wash a couple of lightweight jackets in order to freshen them up for the forthcoming spring weather.

On turning out the pockets, I found two ten pound notes in one of the pockets!

Now that was a nice surprise.

Later, I took Tilly to the vets for her annual booster jabs, blood test and checkup.
That was one hundred and sixty six pounds but really, it only cost one hundred and forty six pounds because I had an extra twenty pounds.
I was strangely pleased...

Tilly2 don’t you think as I do that vet charges are a bit steep?and by the way I was told by a dog breeder friend and a gamekeeper with 5 dogs that the annual booster jags were unnecessary.

...but when she goes into kennels, when we go away, she has to have an up to date vaccination record...
and because she is on long term medication for arthritis she needs an annual blood test.

While your pet is being seen to, go to the toilet and rob the toilet seat.
That will pay for it.

yes tilly2 I understand that,what I am on about is the booster jag which I have been told by reputable sources is an unnecessary expense,wish I was near you I would look after her rather than kennels.

Jordy, that would be lovely. Thank you. You could always drive down and fetch her but then again you would also have to bring her back. That's a lot of driving.

I decided to send some handbags to the charity shop and checked them to make sure they were empty. I also found some money but unfortunately it was three old pound coins!

I don't think that vet charges are steep. I'd certainly like to get human private medical care for the same prices! Not all vaccinations are annual. I think its a matter for risk assessment as to whether they are needed as often as is recommended. If your friend's dogs don't go off the estate that he manages, and don't meet other dogs often (?ever) then they are at much less risk than a city dog who is exercised in areas where there are lots of other dogs.
