For those of you who took part in the Firework thread,I've received an email from Tesco today.

https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1679039.html

Thank you very much for taking the time to email Tesco Customer Services.
I am sorry if you are disappointed that we continue to sell fireworks in our stores. We like to offer our customers the opportunity to celebrate Bonfire Night and we have no plans to cease the sale of fireworks at this time.
I do however appreciate many of the good points you’ve raised and rest assured that I will have your concerns and comments on the matter logged and fed back appropriately. I have no doubt that our Head Office will be monitoring public opinion on this issue very closely. If we do make any changes to our policy, that information will be made publicly available.

Thank you again for taking the time and trouble to contact us. Have a good weekend!

How many others did you email?
Nice of them to respond so quickly.
Get a life springs to mind. In the kindest possible way, I love fireworks.

spath, I wrote to Sainsbury's to congratulate them on their very sensible approach and to ask if they know if other Supermarkets will follow their lead. Still waiting to hear from them.
Question Author
ummmm it was good of them to respond so quickly but I have decided to reply to them and point out the reasons why I believe they shouldn't be on sale to the general public. I also pointed out that because the fireworks go on sale 3 weeks before Nov 5th, some irresponsible people are letting them off day and night, they're not taking them home to save them for one night.
Question Author
SparklyKid what can I say? Can you get it into your head that I have no wish to ban fireworks completely, only those that are on sale to the general public?
Sparklykid I love drinking and driving and beating up idiots......sadly I can do neither of those things.

^^^Lol.
BA for SK. ;-)
Lol Woof :-)

As I said on the other thread it's also Diwali and they celebrate over a few weeks with fireworks. If it was just a few days pet owners can do their best to make things as less scary as possible but weeks of it, not just for pets, anyone with anxiety, it really does become an issue.

SK...I really like fireworks too. The last display I went to they were left off to Pink Floyd. Lovely to watch but we know this display happens annually (I didn't have a dog at the time)
Why are you dummies lolling at Woof? Her stupid post would only make sense if buying fireworks was illegal. Well it's not so suck it up.
Because it made laugh.

tetchy tetchy spicerack......
Woof...this man thinks it's funny to film random strangers and post them on the internet. Each to their own :-)
Sorry sorry sorry Spicerack.....I mixed you up with SK. I think I need new glasses!

cararuby, I've put that in my reply to Tesco.
Large companies have special soundproof rooms in their headquarters where all of these letters are read, discussed and shredded.

The resulting strips make excellent bedding for small animals.
Spicerack posts strangers on t'internet ?
If you cannot get them at tesco's then wander along to Morrisons
