In light of Canarys thread, I thought some of you might like to sign this. I have added my signature to it.

Done.
It just automatically added my name to the petition. Cheeky ***.

Did you not want your name to be added spicerack?
I've already done it.
Did it a while back, last time it was posted.

Barmaid, as you said over on Canarys thread, not all elderly people know how to access these petitions and I am one of those people, but my daughter knew of my feelings about fireworks and she sent this link to me so I could sign it.
You're lucky, Barsel. And you clearly have access to the internet.

I still have to use snail mail with some direct clients because they have no computer and no email and they do not understand it; nor do they want to. On the plus side, I very often get lovely handwritten letters in beautiful script!
Done.
This is nonsense. I simply clicked the link & it said I have "signed" the petition. I didn't sign anything, & don't live in the UK. How can this have any validity. Just share it on Facebook if you want big numbers.
It did say on my emails that all petitions are closing on the 6/11. I think it said midnight tonight. Parliament will be closing down until after the election and all parliamentary petitions will be closed .So if anyone else wants to sign they will have to be quick.

I'm not on Facebook!
No, I don't want to be on it. It's a dirty con trick and should be removed.
It hasn't automatically added your signature as I think you need to get an email to verify it. The page in the link is from Barsel's verification.
I think Bobbi shared the link after she signed the petition. That is why when we click the link it says we have already signed, but that's impossible, because I have not entered my email address and I have not entered my name in print.
Barsel* sorry.
The petition is now closed.

"This petition closed early because of a General Election"

It got 304,105 signatures - Double that of last time!

To late they have already decided, and missed the point entirely, that most people use fireworks responsibly. I believe the point of the petition was the noise level and strain on animals / pets.
No chance. Private displays in my parent's back garden were fun, traditional, and should not be attacked. If you want to campaign against fireworks keep official display type ones for organised displays only. Petition for less bang, more display. Petition for greater punishment for those who abuse them. And more public info films on safety as newer generations don't always get the concept of being responsible for their own safety and expect all around them to save them from themselves. Keep any pets you have indoors on Nov. 5th. And tell Big Brother to leave the people's innocent enjoyment alone.
No thanks. I never sign petitions. As much as I might sympathise with the relevant cause, I don't sign them.
I signed on my fb, 3 days ago.
