Epsteen i would have thought.
Much as I dislike the man I really cant see what the problem is here. People pronounce things differently, some people need to get a life.
I have seen Jewish names pronounced both ways, especially Americans e.g Harvey Weinstien pronounced as ee.
It should be pronounced Ep shtine, but nobody does.

'Steen' is an American pronunciation; sometimes even the spelling is changed, as in Springsteen.

The name of the Beatles' manager has always been pronounced 'stine' in this country, though.

Well! That proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt. The man's a raving anti-semite:-///
Minor issue. My name is always pronounced wrong. I'm not offended by it.
Storm in a teacup.
^^^people actually pronounce "ummmm" wrongly...well, really!
Mushroom I was told by my German friends that it is the second vowel that is pronounced.
my first name is always pronounced incorrectly, it does get on my wick, but have to learn to live with it.
Tomayto, tomahto, let's call the whole thing off.
@brainiac - //The name of the Beatles' manager has always been pronounced 'stine' in this country, though.//
And when was Albert ever called Einsteen?
Exactly my point!
What a load of shtus.

Hearing the word Epstein (however it is pronounced) does not emphasise jewishness. If anything it sounds Germanic. The surname derives from a German town.

'The Curse of Frankensteen'. Nope. That doesn't appear correct.
....nor does Albert Eensteen
Whatever his name is, it's not really 'news', is it.
Gromit //Hearing the word Epstein (however it is pronounced) does not emphasise jewishness//
But many of the people with names ending in-stein are either Jewish or of Jewish descent so in a way it does suggest Jewish.
I have no idea of the significance or hidden meaning (I doubt there is one) but that word if pronounced by a German would be Ep shtine. I though it was the sh sound people were getting uptight about not the tine or teen.
I couldn't care less, he's odious enough as it is without trying to find things wrong with him that probably aren't there.
According to Wiki Epstein was Jewish and his name should be pronounced' Epsteen'.
