Blue cats are mainly female too. White cats with blue eyes are mostly deaf- unless they have a brown mark between their ears. Gene's are odd.

I can’t tell if it’s male or female but the colour is quite common. Same as my cat: dark tortoiseshell.
Female and tortoiseshell would be my guess.
Caran wasn't there when I went to post...sneaky! ;)
Caran still isn't here. ;0))
A dark tortie likely to be female.
Ginger cats are mainly male and tortie female
Dohhhhh!
Cloverjo...Cloverjo...Cloverjo!

Seen that tortie colour quite a lot - usually female but there are rare males, same as gingers, usually male but not always.
My cat has green eyes...deaf as a door post.
Blue and green are the same colour with eyes x
Oh, I never knew that x
who’s to say how it identifies - bet no-one’s bothered to ask them... :-)
You can differentiate between a male and a female cat when they get out of kitten stage. The male cat's face will broaden around the cheeks area and the females won't, hers will be a more pointed face. If a male is castrated before his cheeks have broadened out then it won't happen but once they have broadened out, castrating won't make any difference. In this link you can see very clearly the difference between Harley male and Queenie female.

To answer your question SF, without seeing her face clearly, that cat looks like she's a female. Poor little thing:-(
