Are your thoughts pictures and written words that you "see", or do you "hear" or have silent, verbal conversations?
I know which I am...what are you? And did you know there was another way of thinking? Fascinating stuff.

In one word twaddle, in imho.
A mix for me I think.
Not sure what is meant by this but does it mean, for example, if you were thinking of your shopping list some actually see the words of the items in their thoughts, some see the products as pictures, or some just...well I don't know really....Bit strange....
I have to say, I both picture thoughts as well as have internal monologues as well as abstract nonverbal thoughts.

All of the above for me. It's situational for which takes president.
Yes, aunt polly grey.

"Fun fact: some people have an internal narrative and some don’t. As in, some people’s thoughts are like sentences they ‘hear,’ and some people just have abstract nonverbal thoughts, and have to consciously verbalize them. And most people aren’t aware of the other type of person."

I'm definitely an internal monologue person...mentally chattering all the time. I've always thought that how I think is not the norm. Not sure why though.

Piggynose...why is it twaddle? How do you think?...or do you not bother...;)
As far as "voices in my head" is concerned, I think I'm a cross between Walter Mitty, and Joan of Arc.

Far too much imagination ;o)
I agree with The Devil (the poster not the entity lol! ) A mixture of visual or internal dialogue but I never see words in my head. For some strange reason I give things 'colours' . For instance when I think of Monday I automatically think its Red. Tuesday Blue, Wednesday Grey, Thursday Yellow, Friday Green , Saturday blueish silver, and Sunday Brown. Also numbers up to 12 have colours. Weird :-/
I've always got a running commentary in my head, including conversations, and thankfully I have clear pictures of the nice things. :)

That's synesthesia, auntpolly.

My internal-monologue is a constant presence.....nattering away in the background.
Sometimes, though, I don't know what i am going to say until it pops right out of my mouth.... :o)
Like Pasta, I mentally chatter all the time.
And exactly like Jack. And when it pops out I am surprised that people don't know what on earth I am talking about!
Both. I used to have eidetic images as a child too. I don't give things colours but I do like odd numbers better than even and prime numbers better still. As a teenager, I sometimes used to verbalise aloud my internal monologue which was embarassing.
does anybody do the thing where they have a whole thought process in their heads and then just say the last bit out loud and the people around you go "what?????"
Pasta that's a very interesting link I had no idea there was a name for it . However, they have got all the colours wrong on the example letters and numbers lol!
I have a non-stop verbal thing going on interspersed with useless images. I’m a very quiet person, so all my talking is done in my head. Continuously. I wish it would shut up sometimes.

My son has no visual thoughts. He can’t picture anything in his head at all. He is also a quiet person.
PF. How do i think, its a natural process, when i think i'm hungry i eat, thirsty, i drink. etc
No, no, no aunt polly, Wednesday is definitely green, Friday is navy blue, Saturday yellow, Sunday red, the rest vary:)
Weeks and months sit on tall blocks of varying lengths.
I used to think everyone saw things the way I do until I read an article about this sort of thing and realised they don’t.
I find it really interesting.
piggy I would have thought hunger was a physical thing not a thought. One doesn't 'think' hungry they 'feel' hungry. Conscious thought is different from Automatic thought
