Cruel Setback

Nearly 2 months after being admitted with Covid my uncle was transferred from ITU down to MHDU and latterly the Stroke Ward. We were told he had had a little stroke along the way but there was no lasting damage and he was definitely in the recovery phase from Coronavirus. After less than 48 hours on the stroke Ward he has picked up another infection and he's now back on ITU and back on a ventilator.

The Consultant thinks he's probably used up all his reserves and has nothing left to fight with.

I am absolutely devastated.

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this Lcg ,it’s made all the worse because he was making such good progress

I'm just gutted. We all thought he'd lose the battle on his daughter's 40th which was 2 days after he was admitted. It's his other daughter's birthday today and now she's faced with the possibility of losing her dad on her birthday. Life can be so cruel.

I'm so sorry Lady CG that you've had such awful news. That rollercoaster of emotions seems doubly cruel. You must all feel emotionally battered.

I hope he has the strength to rally. He may still have something in reserve.
