I've just gone into the back garden (outskirts of Reading) and looked up to see 11 red kites circling around. My previous record was 15 whilst waiting for a bus.
21 at one time here. They are no longer really, even something to look at now. There seem far more of them than any other type of bird. Beautiful to watch though.
They do :-). It has got to the point, where they are the most common birds around now, so it is quite usual to see five in your garden in the morning. Sparrows seem to be doing better now too :-)
Love them. Never get bored of them. One evening there were 15 sat in the trees at the back of our house. There are very often two sat in a tree behind our barn.
Last week was a good week for wildlife. We had a barn owl, kestral, sparrowhawk all land in the garden. And then a fox cub turned up.
