I posted last Friday about this. Well, it looks like it's going to happen. The rescue has already advised that they believe Tubby will be fine.
It almost didn't happen as last Friday I left off that I wanted to consult with the rescue first, and would let them (local pet shop owner...it was her son who had the cat)know on Monday. Which I did, but son got his grandparents to take the cat. I was quite disappointed, but it sounded like she would settle in...though it turned out the grandfather was impatient that she wasn't settling as quickly as he wanted. Even I'm not that impatient.
I'm told she's quite friendly, affectionate and is ok with other cats. She wasn't happy in her original home because the other cats...2 Ragdolls and a Persian plus another moggie ...were so much bigger and quite rowdy.
Fingers crossed this works out for all concerned.

Sounds like its meant to be - good luck.
Hope it all works out for all concerned! Well done.
Might be just what is needed. He can follow her lead
Oh I don't know if that's a good idea, Pasta, it might upset Tubby even more. Can you bring the other cat in on a temporary basis? like fostering and see how it goes?

Tubby is making progress* Luca, and another quiet cat that has lived in a home environment may help him learn to trust/be brave.
*See my thread on cat calming.
I just read it, and see he's slowly coming round to his environment, but I'd be worried about bringing in another cat, but that's just me,(I hate change) I hope all goes well.
