Hey tinks, I used to talk to a lovely Glasgow girl ( Fran ) a lot at Wigan Casino ( long time ago ) most Saturday night / Sunday mornings. We didn't need an interperator it must have been hilarious for anyone listening, her with her heavy Glasgow accent and me with my heavy Black country accent. I quite often think about her ( she died a couple of years back ) she was a lovely girl.
I'm the one who will need the subtitles Tinks.
My late father - in - law was from Glasgow and when we first met, I couldn't understand a word he said, and he couldn't understand me.
He had moved from Glasgow to London and so he got used to the London accent and then along comes his future Manc daughter -in - law, (me) and it was like we were from a different foreign country.:-)
Hey Barsel, I understood those Manc Gals ( Wigan usually ) perfectly well and they understood me :-)
Tony, I am absolutely useless with accents. I still can't understand a word my son - in - law says and he's from Bilston!
