It was the E-Type that brought tears to my eyes, Zacs. I had a ride in a Miura once. A mate worked in the Italian Car Centre in Alie Street near Aldgate in London's East End. He took me for a spin in a "demonstrator" (well, that's what he called it). Very impressive, smooth but we couldn't let it too loose around Gardiners Corner and into the Whitechapel Road! I recall the tale (probably apocryphal) when Sig. Lamborghini was tackled about the Miura's lack of boot space (the engine took up all the space behind the cockpit and the spare wheel the space in front). He responded by saying that wherever you are going, such was the car's performance that you can get there and back in day so no luggage was necessary! I recall they cost £10,500 when they were introduced and an E-Type went for £2,250 at the same time. The Lambo used four Weber triple-choke carbs which sold for £150 each. You could buy a decent second hand Anglia for that money!
However, I digress!
