I think you will find they'r designed to be fitted to doors

Strange the one I bought was noted as suitable for fitting through walls!
Maybe you should get onto the manufacturers for the full fitting instructions.
I would only fit it to a door not a wall because walls are quite thick and cutting though it might damage the wall.
We have had cat flaps but I wouldn't have thought they were designed for fitting in walls. Walls are too thick.
Petmate used to make a cat flap that did fit thicker doors/walls. Not sure if they still make them, I had one fitted years ago, the wall was a brick size thick and it fitted perfectly. Hope this helps.

Somewhere on the web I saw instructions on fitting through a wall, but, despite trying to retrace my steps, I've been able to relocate these, any help would be much appreciated
