Without knowing your experience with dogs I would say be very careful because that combination could be very dominant and in some cases dog reactive. Why not get one of either breed, so you know what sort of temperament and background the parents have, and what health testing has been done. Anyone crossing breeds just to make money is unlikely to have carried out the necessary tests to prevent ill health in the offspring. Whereas a year ago a crossbreed would have been cheaper now they are more expensive than either of the two original breeds - and you don't know what you are getting.
I've not got one, but I suspect large, strong, active, boisterous, smart. Not sure colour is important.
Have a look here at what health conditions Shar Pei are susceptible to: https://www.dogbreedhealth.com/shar-pei/ - and Staffies also need DNA testing for L2-HGA and Hereditary Cataract. If both parents carry the gene the pups will be affected.
It seems fashionable crossbreeds are more popular since the pandemic. And the offspring suffer for it...while the "breeders"* get rich.
*I use that term loosely.
Sadly pasta not just 'greeders' of crossbreeds - there are very many people breeding purebred puppies who don't bother health testing due to the incredible demand for puppies. People are just not prepared to wait for a responsibly bred puppy any more - they want one 'now' and will get them from anyone without doing the same sort of research they would if buying a mobile phone. When I see people charging upwards of £3000 for an unregistered puppy without any health tests I despair, when most of the people I am in contact with have not put their prices up, do all the necessary tests and carefully plan matings to ensure the correct health and temperament - but I suppose they would not sell to most of the people who are wanting one 'now' without any thought for what will happen to them when they have grown into a big unmanageable dog and when they have to go back to work. Another result of this is the number of unlicensed behaviourists, dog walkers and groomers who have sprung up to cater for those who can't manage their own dogs.
Just rescue a dog that needs a home. Never have we chosen a breed. In nearly 45 years we have never been let down by any dog we have decided to bring home as family. All sorts of mixed breeds and ones that no one else would rehome.
I would every every word that Apc2604 has said. In over 50 years of multiple dog ownership I have never chosen a breed, nor have I chosen a dog. Instead I have adopted whatever dog was in need when a space became available in my home. I have never regretted a single one of them.

Im not gonna go get a random dog im gonna go get one I want
Roadman - if that's what you want that's fine. But do your research first so that you get a healthy dog.

I will i wasnt going to go to a back alley dealer
Roadman your shar pei staffy cross will be a very random dog. Look at photos and you can see they vary wildly in size and appearance and you will have no idea which parent's nature will be the dominant.

I find it hard to believe any responsible dog breeder would choose to breed these two dogs, they both have known health problems so you probably would be buying from a back alley dealer. But as long as you get what you want, what does the background and health of the dog matter, eh?
I wholeheartedly agree with Apc, but you're not going to listen !!
Probably wants a dog as a status symbol more than anything else. All our dogs have been mutts. But glad really that Roadman won't be rescuing one. Rescue dogs need to go to dog lovers. I have never cared what colour any of our dogs or cats have been.

Same as me apc. My whole life I have taken rescue dogs and they've all turned out to be lovely. I took two without even seeing them because I was told they desperately needed a home.
I hope roadman's post is a wind up because if it isn't, poor dog.
I think this is all a little unfair and judgemental. Many people have favourite breeds or even colours, which doesn't necessarily make them bad owners. I have had mostly rescue dogs as well, but "the right one" is more important all round.
I can't answer the OP, sorry. But with rescues, "what they are like as pets" is often dependent on how they have previously been treated too.
