Has Anyone Bought A Dog Harness With An "Easy Release Buckle"?

I have got to the point when I can't release the buckle on my dog's harness as my fingers just aren't strong enough anymore. I've found one on Amazon with an "Easy Release Buckle" and I'm wondering how easy it is. The ones without a buckle would be too easy for him to wriggle out of I think.
Anyone on here had the same trouble and if so how did you solve it?

I haven't.... mine are like a hook which I think, is easy realise. I do have an issue, that my springer (now 4) is so strong, on a harness or a lead- she is making it quite difficult for me. She is great off-lead. Not trying to invade, lb... sorry. Just hoping there might be similar advice.

French-Scissor Snap
A French-Scissor Snap is a great replacement for the bolt-style connectors that most leashes feature. Unlike bolt connectors, which require quite a bit of thumb dexterity to operate (and aren’t easy to use with a dog excited to go outside), French-scissor snaps allow you to use several fingers at the same time to open the connector.

Trigger Snap
A trigger snap is like a cross between a French-scissors connector and a traditional bolt-style connector. It uses the same type of clamp closure that French-scissor snaps do, but it uses an asymmetrical design; instead of squeezing the mid-point of the clamp as you would with a French-scissor snap, these snaps use a thumb-operated “trigger.”

To open the clamp, you’ll simply press down on the trigger with your thumb. Once it is in place, you can just release the pressure and it’ll close around the collar ring. Thank you JJ and Pixie but we are talking about different things. It's a dog Harness not a Lead and it is the release mechanism when removing his harness that is the problem for me. Here is what I mean. The 2nd picture is closer up, ie the grey bow-like object with Red Dingo written on it. You have to squeeze both sides quite hard to release it, too hard for me.

Ah, I'm sorry,lb. I gave up with a harness, due to the strength of one dog I have, and this made it easier. Apologies x

I had to give up struggling with a variety of harnesses - couldn't work them out but this is very similar to the one I use now. When Maxie sees it, he stands up and puts his arms into it - mind you after a while.

Bless you jj that is a very cute one but it still has the same buckle that you have to squeeze with your fingers to release and that is just too painful for my arthritic fingers. But thank you. I am considering not putting a harness on him at all, just attach the lead to his collar. We travel by car to wherever we walk and then I take his lead off and he's very good and comes when I call.

yes you do have to squeeze the buckle but if your dog doesn't pull too much there is a velcro wrap on the coat too which of course comes off very easy too - so you could leave the buckle alone and just attach the lead to the "rings".

Same as mine, lb. I am not exactly a disciplinarian with my dogs.... the one and only thing I ensure, is instant recall, with lots of treats. Purely for their own safety. Even the puppy worked it out within 2 days. I have one puller- and am arranging training, but she is already over 4....
Mine are rarely and very briefly on leads, so,I do just attach to collar until I let them off.

I've forgotten his name, but there was a good dog trainer who came up with the 'Halti'.
It connected to the dog's snout, not his neck, and so did not allow a powerful dog to dominate his master/mistress, because his snout was less powerful than his neck and shoulders.
Maybe worth a look to se what you think.

I am going to give just a collar and lead a try and see how we go. I'll have to watch for him trying to back out of it but other than that we should be OK. At least when it's me walking him!
