I'm Having Mucus Discharge What Could It Be?

So I have noticed when wiping my vagina I have mucus discharge with a little bit of a red string in it what could this be?

I took an ovulation test it was negitive as we are trying to have another child

Is this a one off or has this been going on for weeks ?
If the former then it could be normal and no big deal.
If the latter then you need to see your GP.
It could be many things.
Do you have pain or bleeding during or after intercourse?

Just today it started and no pains during sex I plan on contacting doctor's tomorrow
