Tilly I sent you a wee post yesterday on your post to me
Hi Tilly this is going to be long-winded
- when I went to my IT class yesterday - it is only a lady who comes in voluntarily and so I have been lucky in getting one-to-one information re the Ipad.
Anyway she was telling me she wore 2 hearing aids having had mastoid trouble in her 40s maybe. She is the first person I have heard of having mastoid damage to her ear (which caused my deafness) when I was born - but also she was crucified with you know painful, pus, etc etc TMI coming out of her ears during that time.
Thank God I just was deaf and never encountered all the above stuff - like sore ears etc.
Anyway when her and I were on the Ipads - she turned on a Talkback feature on the Ipads eg - now I could hear a female speaking but didn't understand a word, she could hear word for word and actually was astonished that I could not hear the female.
Like yourself she said something her hearing aids are bluetoothed to her smartphone and she hears fantastic.
Things have moved on so much so I have made an appointment for February for an appointment with Boots audiologist.
LOL - I don't have a smartphone and never wanted one but if this helps me - I would just get a cheapie just to get it linked to the aids.
Have a nice day. Tilly - I'm getting all excited now LOL10:35 Wed 26th Jan 2022
Hi JJ. I'm glad you saw it in action. It really is wonderful.
The Boots audiologist will link your phone for you so be sure to take it with you when you go and pick up your aids.
The test takes about an hour. Nothing like I've ever had before. There are different tests and the you try the aids out.
I didn't want to take mine out at the end of the test. I felt bereft that she had taken them away from me.
well Tilly - that's a first for me - I don't own a smartphone - they sent me a questionnaire and it never mentioned anything about the smartphone, perhaps they will have something there - do you think?
