Yay it worked :)
Hello Dave, you are stopping me doing some work - what a handsome man you are.
Do you talk?
Love it, he's a colourful chap. What type is he?
Question Author
Morning Helen :)

Dave is currently still sulking in his cage, he's not much of an early bird lol
He talks a little but bites more.
That said he can do R2-D2 pitch perfect!
Question Author
He's a Blue Fronted Amazon :)
My dad had a cockatiel that could whistle laurel and hardy, the hitler only has one and did cracking wolf whistles at the most importune time
I love parrots, too old to consider having one as it would outlive me.
Question Author
This is his 'sister' Blue

Do you still have the canary Rowan?

You could always look into fostering a parrot ;)

''My dad had a cockatiel that could whistle laurel and hardy, the hitler only has one and did cracking wolf whistles at the most importune time ''

Blue, the Grey One, speaks in many tongues, does every phone beep and ring known to man [it seems]. She burps, farts, whistles and does fireworks... she is rarely quiet... Sadly it's a constant nervous reaction for her. She suffered awful abuse in her first home.. for 5 years :(
Yes still have the canary, it's that time of year when they learn the new mate hunting song, so any time the sun shines through the window off he goes....
I still can't understand how such a small bird can generate such big volume.
They're lovely. I'm so glad that Blue has a good home now.
Aww poor Blue abused for five years, so very happy she's safe and loved now. She's gorgeous.
Lovely.
Husband used to have one of those parrots. He hated me. He would climb out of his cage to peck my toes. We had to rehome him.
Lovely plumage - careful they stun easily!
That's Rodney
Question Author
You certainly get to know if they don't like you lol
I bought Dave sort of on a whim, I had always wanted a parrot but soon learned it was not all 'Polly wants a cracker'! I have spent the last 11 and a half years coming to terms with my mistake lol and in my quest to become a good parrot 'keeper' learned of the awful abuse and neglect these amazing creatures face :(
I gave Blue her forever home about 8 years ago. She is a mutilator and prolific plucker but I like to believe she is happy here. She hasn't mutilated since she has been here tho she still plucks.

Thank you for all of your lovely comments x
We had budgies for several years; just one or two in the house as pets. One year my wife agreed to look after her boss's parrot whilst he went on holiday. We found our budgie writhing in the bottom of his cage; he'd clearly picked up some disease from the parrot.
Question Author
''That's Rodney'' hahaha love it!

Tho I do suspect, in this age of gender fluidity he is actually a Davina ;)
Question Author
How sad bhg :(
I have to admit to not having many visitors so my guys remain disease free.
Anyone coming to the house is questioned as to whether they have been near any other house birds... Avian vets are hard to come by :(
