Removing Dog 'Fragrance' From House
9 Answers
We're moving into a house the previous owners of which had dogs. It wasn't too 'doggy' to start with, and after lots of cleaning and vacuuming it's further improved but there's still a lingering dog aroma and my allergic reactions are continuing, though reduced. The stairs carpet is about to be replaced, after replacing the other two carpets in the house. We've cleaned the 'out of the way' spots such as tops of wardrobes, kitchen units etc - the fur gets everwhere. We've got room diffusers going. Anything I'm missing, or any top tips? Thanks!

Sprinkle the floors with bicarb of soda - let it sit overnight and then hoover up - empty your hoover after then repeat again. then clean your hoover out including giving it a good wash in zoflora. Wipe widow sills, radiators, skirting boards etc with a non bio soap powder in hot water - it may need repeating a few times.

Thanks for the helpful answers above, we'll try some of the suggestions. Yes we are candle users. All the carpets are now replaced, which has helped a lot. Mrs B got a miracle silicone wonder-brush that's apparently going to change our lives, admittedly it's already done a good job cleaning out various nooks and crevices around the house.
But, my word this dog hair. I've found it in the upstairs shower, and in the dishwasher. I really hope the previous owner hadn't given up trying to shower the dogs and tried them in the dishwasher.
