Straight From Oven To Bin - Flipping Tiny Ants
31 Answers
Baked a lovely light fruit cake, left it cool. No idea where they came from but it was crawling with little minute ants half and hour later.
Where have they been lurking? Cake number two is now in the oven, worktop bleached to within an inch of its life, ant spray bought.
I didn't swear. How have you wasted your time today?

I will take your advice and give it a miss. On the subject of ants - I cool my baking on the top of the wardrobe as I had a similar problem with ants that you are having. I still put bread/cakes up on the wardrobe to cool - Habit!!
We used to buy 'Ant Hotels' in France (masses & masses of ants everywhere in the countryside). You can probably buy them here. Small, circular containers with 'doors' you pushed open. Ants would troop in, get covered with powder and take it back to the nest - where it finished them all off.
Until you can find some to put around the place, cover everything!
Evadora has a good idea there.
