Cat Deterrent For Gardens

Hi . I am getting a couple of cats pooping in my garden. I'm looking for safe friendly remedies that will encourage moggies to poop elsewhere, but won't harm them. Any tried and tested suggestions please. I've tried lemon peel but that hasn't worked thus far.

We found that Scent off was very effective at persuading a cat which thought our gravel was kitty litter, wasn't. Weather can affect it but we found that it lasted long enough for the cat to change its habit and pester somebody else.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any other remedies. I'll be interested to hear if you succeed.

Lots of suggestions, none work well. Best I've found is to take your most prickly rose cuttings and shove them where the pests go. But be aware that can be a gardener deterrent too.

I've never been able to get any to try it, but I'm told lion poo is effective.

OG. We do use rose cuttings as well as ground-cover planting and various twigs and stuff to make the soil less interesting for cats. We don't have a serious problem with cats since we started doing that.

Holly leaves, sprinkled on any open ground,   or as twigs pushed in the ground.  Don't leave any earth turned over without covering it

I've used bramble stems. Also try putting some buffet cutlery in the ground, spaced out, forks, knives etc. They've stopped selling the plastic type now. Seems to have worked so far.

Cats hate citric smells so scattered orange & lemon rinds deter them. Also you can spray a citric-smelling bathroom/wc cleaner around the points of entrance.
