Holidays In Tunisia
Idly flicking through Facebook I came upon a Tui ad for holidays in Tunisia.
Something stirred in my mind so I checked on travel advisories and found:
Protests, demonstrations and strikes can occur throughout Tunisia with little or no warning and may turn violent. Strikes may affect essential services including ground and air transport services (see 'Safety'). We advise: Exercise a high degree of caution in Tunisia overall due to the threat of terrorism.19 Sept 2024
Does this demonstrate a lack of foresight and duty of care for customers or an earnest attempt to rebuild the tourist industry in that country?
Very cheap compared to others btw, but maybe not enough to risk your life for.

This was trumped by a guy who purchased a live goat and slit its throat in the gutter. Tunisia..great beaches...flies the size of sparrows!!
I wouldn't go there if you paid me either, & years is not lonfg enough for me to not worry I'm going to get shot on a beach BUT to add a bit of perspective if you look up any country on the Foreign Office travel advice it will list a host of things to worry about, general crime as well as terrorism. Try checking out some of the Caribbean islands some think of as paradise. I've been 5 times, there are people there who think of nothing of putting a gun to your head for 20 bucks...
I wouldn't holiday in a Muslim country again even if the holiday was free.
Arppound 30 y ago they massacred 30 Europeans on a beach - well no different to Gaza now, yeah OK no one wd go on holiday to Gaza ....and it is different now. The Tunisians regard themselves as southern Europeans - jammed in a sea of Arabs. That is why they were er given their own country
