Good Flooring

My bedroom floor has old laminate (thin etc) however over the years when I bring a jug of water to bed I have in due course spilt the water and so there is wear and tear in the laminate.  Anybody suggest what to do.  Thanks

Get a jug with a lid.

too late - damage is done on the laminate - even those jugs with lids are hopeless too as they will not pour with the lids on so you have to take your lids off and they will pour LOL

Depends on the damage. You can, of course, get it replaced. But no doubt there will be folk skilled in filler material and coloured waxes who might be able to quote for a repair as long as the flooring isn't warped.

If you are in the habit of spilling water dont have a laminate floor.  Buy a carpet.

Its impossible to repair water damaged laminate.  Once water hit the HDF/MDF it will swell and thats it.

I have had rugs for some time and then decided to buy a big and better one - unfortunately Mr Maxie has had a few wet spells on it and I can't wash it so I have bought a new washable one and throw this one out - new one is quite small and the next bigger size wouldn't fit into the washing machine

Tilly - I was in the process but with sister being ill I had to curtail it for a time - now I am wondering should I get my head around - ok - rather than going through the work should I think be thinking of moving to "somewhere" .

Mind you any thing I did look at didn't float my boat.

We use those sports bottles and flasks with spouts for night time drinks, easy to carry and no spills.

Unless you have guests in your bedroom I'd put up with the floor if it is just unsightly, especially if I had a leaking dog

you have a point Barry - the rug should cover the bits and I do buy loads of nappies for Mr Maxie and you know he is probably wimpering (has given up of course) to go out and because I am asleep I don't hear him.  Many times he does go on the nappies and the odd wee boop.  I just whip the nappies away and clean that area.

davebro - hopefully I should think of moving when I am a hundred LOL - it would fill me with dread.
