One of the guy's here kindly took him to the vet this afternoon after I pleaded with them to see Jay. The result is he has Periodontal Disease affecting his lower right molar teeth which may require extracting but they would check this on the XRay. Thing is they can't do it until next Thursday. He has got some tablets to keep him going and reduce the pain. I'm trying to find a vet who can do it earlier, fingers crossed. Chap who took him said he was trembling with fear when he realised where he was going and he had to be carried into the surgery.
I am try to get hold of another vet who could do it sooner and will start again in the morning. Cost will be around £2k. He's asleep now thankfully.
No Tills he's not insured and the reason for that is because Which recommended that it is very expensive and not a good idea to insure a dog over 8 years old. Apparently you pay more and more and receive less and less. He had been a stray before I got him but at a guess he was around 10 years old. I don't mind paying for him at all BUT one other company apologised they could not fit him in but told me it would've cost less than £1k for XRays and removals.
