Are there any mammals without arms ?

I saw a Gerboa at London Zoo and, upon first glance, thought it had no arms ! It got me thinking...are there any mammals without arms ?

Whales and Dolphins spring to mind (are porpoises mallas as well?) - in the furry creature mammal category duck billed platypus? There are also hundreds that have forelegs as opposed to arms - but I guess that's not what you are after.

Whales. And in Shanghai, china, a monkey lost both its arms in a freak accident at a banana packing factory. He lost his claim for compensation

Sorry Tartanwizard but I'm afraid whales' tails are boneless. Some small bones buried within their bodies, in the hip region, are all that remain of their hind limbs. Their flukes are some sort of (fibrous?) tissue. But you are right about their forelimbs. Maybe you were thinking along the lines of seals etc., in that their 'tail' contains bones and would qualify as hindlimbs?

Tartanwizard, right back at ya! :-) I feel a tad embarrassed considering I've learnt way more from you than you'll learn from me. You have a bash at every question (which I admire) and by far the majority of times you're right. I'm pretty much in awe of the calibre of people contributing here - hope it comes across that I'm just wanting to add my little bit in return for all I learn from this site.
