I know what you're going through...I still find myself crying...the oddest things set me off...other people are so kind and the poems link sent by In a Pickle were wonderful.Each day gets a little easier but the house feels so empty.I feel I cannot get another dog because I would feel like I was betraying Jade.In time maybe I will change my mind but even almost a month later it's not an option.Thinking about you and sending a massive hug over the net.Love Barb xx

Hello there, thank you so much for your post. Its a comfort to know that other people care and know what I am going through.

I know without a doubt that we did what was best for her, and that she is no longer suffering, however it is still so hard and I just pray she knew we were helping her.

I miss her so much and there is just an empty feeling in my heart and home without her.

lou100 -- we do care and know exactly what you are going though. I had to put my beloved cat down after 13 years. That was almost three years ago and I still cry (and bitterly!) from time to time. Like you, I pray every day that he knew I was trying to help and loved him with everything in my heart. It was only a few months ago that we were able to get another kitten and while we do love her to bits, in our hearts we never forget the first cat..good luck -- post anytime if we can help.

Thanks to you both, it really is comforting when people take the time to reply and share their experiences with you. My dog was 18 so she's been a massive part of our family for alot of years, I just have to think about the good times now which help - and there were lots of them! Our cat was 13 so we do know he lived a long and happy life.

I feel your pain i had to put my beloved tigger to sleep 13 years ago .. now i am searching for a kitten but they are a rare breed everyone seems to be having their cats neutered don't try to replace your pet too soon it didn't work for me..
