Sorry Ed to post here, its naughty I know but I can't think of another way to do it. I love the new skin on the orangedog forum, but I can't get past the first page and that took 3 attempts to load. I tried the memberlist or click on a name link to people's email but can't open them either

If I don't tell you, you will think that you have been deserted....

Well you've all made my day .
Tears rolling down my face here Vinny .Pee Po indeed .I'll be singing it all week now .
I'm so pleased to see a handbag named after me Robinia .Fame at last .
Not a bad day here so far .No rain just for a change .

Have any of you been watching whispering Dan with the home movie roadshow thingy ? I caught up with it last night .Fascinating .Film of a wedding taken a hundred years ago was brilliant and they had a home movie of this dear little shop taken in the fifties .All packets of Omo and dried fruit and flour being weighed out and packed into paper bags by hand .Very nostalgic .
Take care all .Pip Pip for now .
:-D Shaney singing Pee Po all week :-D OMG Woofy didn't you think I had enough catching up to do ha ha! Kit and the Widow I hadn't heard of either but he really managed to capture the Norwegian spirit, so damn cheery they are, you gotta love them (very funny when he was bouncing in the strap ha ha). Hinge and Bracket, no not as such but I do remember The Good Old Days from my childhood. My Mum loved it. Tom Lehrer is brilliant, I'm well familiar with him and do you know he's still alive (and nowadays I tend to think people are brilliant just for being alive ha ha). Phil Ochs and Pete Seeger yes yes of course, although if you hadn't told me I would have guessed Tom Paxton had written that song, oh I love Tom Paxton.

Couldn't you all please learn Swedish cos we do have funny stuff here too and it would be so great to be able to show you some of it. Believe me I know that subtitles are a nuisance but you may still find this worthwhile: Swedish comedian Jonas Gardell. Sometimes you won't understand why they're laughing, it's when he impersonates his boyfriend Mark. They've been together for 25 years and both of them are well-known here and Mark is quite, um, special and has a Finland-Swedish accent. Also the subtitles are lacking here and there, for instance when it says "Place! Place!", it should read "Sit! Sit!" (or is it "Stay"?) like you'd tell a dog. Nice!!

Great videos woofy, especially Hinge & Bracket! I loved Dear Ladies, I want to live in a village called Stackton Tressel

Managed to have an hour outside 'tween the showers...I think it's thundering, I can't hear very well, George Michael's singing a bit LOUD...keep it down George...I can believe your car search led to JD Jude, all of youtube leads me to GM. :o)

(oh booger, it's a cloudburst)

Nice handbag Lottie - 'generous sized hobo' ...haha
and stop whinging netipot, you've got ample bazooms, what more d'ya want?
yes, Shaney, I did watch the home movies. I think Dan is also doing a railway journeys thing, but life's too short to watch everything he presents. If he finally achieves lift-off with his bare hands he could do a helicopter series.
I am having a Divine Comedy evening. I just love Neil Hannon's voice. Just thinking now of the wonderful 'Father Ted'

if you want to go back before Flanders and Swann (incidentally, F was the father of Stephanie Flanders, the BBC's economics lady), you could try this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD9n-wjnfjI

I had to hack through hundreds of videos by a heavy metal band of the same name... you might find it a bit hard to pick up, Kit, as the sound ain't great. Apparently the bass used to crack glasses with his voice and they had to stand him well back from the microphone
here. I've found some lyrics, don't know if they're exactly the same as Youtube's

Learn how Lizzie met an Aussie
Told her girlfriend, Maryann
"Maryann, I've met a man
Who says he is Australian."
"Fallen for 'im, 'ave you, Lizzie?"
Lizzie blushing, shook her head.
Said Maryann, "Don't think you can
Fool me." and then she said...

CHORUS: "Is 'e an Aussie, Lizzie, is 'e?
Is 'e an Aussie, Lizzie, eh?
Is it because 'e is an Aussie
That 'e keeps you busy, Lizzie?
Has 'e jazzy ways and does 'e
Make you go all fuzzy wuzzy?
Got you dizzy, 'as 'e, Lizzie?
Is 'e an Aussie, Lizzie, eh?"

"Seems this digger likes my figure."
Lizzie then told Maryann.
"Likes my ways and claims to think 'em
What these Aussies call 'Fair Dinkum',
Throws a fond eye, talks of Bondi,
And he's tried to kiss me twice.
When I've said, 'No!' he's said 'Good oh!'"
Said Maryann, "How nice!" CHORUS

Soon this wonder from down under
Got himself right down to biz.,
Lost no time in coaxing Liz
To promise that she would be his.
He being well born, lived in Melbourne
So they sailed at once for there
And Maryann without a man
Repeats this maiden's prayer... CHORUS
That railway journeys thing is on Sky Jno so I can't watch it anyway :(
I just Googled it and I can't even watch it on the internet .Hopefully they may have it on the BBC at some stage ,that's if it's not been closed down by Rebelsouls putting a bomb under Broadcasting House :)

It's been a lovely day here .Bright and breezy and I got all my smalls dry:)

Neti that pot thing is gross .When I started watching it I thought it was piddle pot of some sort until she stuck it her nose .Yuk .
How is Mr S doing Shaney? (I too t hought that that Neti Pot was something to Piddle in)

My grandad used to snort salty water. He swore it kept the bugs away and got rid of colds, etc. quickly. I must admit he lived until he was 90. I don't think he had a Neti pot though or any special salt!!
Woofy, I am sorry to hear what that consultant said to Mr Woofy. Neither of you needed to hear that. People should think hard before coming out with things like that. Put your trust in his usual consultants who know his case well. I am glad he is doing so well at the moment. Is he a Hell's Angel?
Listen you lot, I don't want a snot pot named after me, it's all there is!

Yes lottie, my mum swore by sniffing salt water and we did it when we had a cold, I hated it, felt like drowning!

Shaney, I haven't actually watched the youtube of the neti pot.

I watch Home Movies and am off to watch the 2nd one now. In the first episode was there an big empty departmental store, it looked so sad.
It's very strange but I think I have heard that one before jno... either that or it's the kind of song that drives you mad so instantaneously that you feel you've always been there ha ha.

Yes very true what Lottie says about the consultant. They are dead wrong to speak ill of each other, a good doctor doesn't do that. Which in this case is a good thing - we don't want her to be a good doctor, if you see what I mean:) And she isn't. She sounds like the jerk who told me I had a brain tumour.

Okay Neti how would you feel about a Ne-Tea Pot then? It's the best I can do! http://i38.tinypic.com/33kpqc2.jpg
Ha ha swedie, that is hilarious, you are clever, I laughed out loud!!!

I've seen the neti pot vid now, and seems very strange to me, think I'll stick to blowing my nose!
LOL Swedie. Clever stuff. "A Neti Shelf"

Hello all and thank you for the good thoughts and giggles. I am taking Shaney's dad's advice to heart.

Re snorting salt water, the latest version is called sterimar. Its an aerosol can of filtered sea water and its AMAZING for sinusitis. Soothing when you use it, no side effects, no maximum dose, it just works.

usual day start here, coffee and a net surf then kip for a couple of hours....yawn....laters all
zzzzzzzz....morning all, I can't wake up today. Hopefully I'll be able to be outside a while, we might actually have a dry day in store.

haha, very good Kit, my shelf doesn't even catch crumbs :o(
