My cat bites my feet and miaows when I play the descant recorder. I used to play the violin and the cat I had the stood up and reach for my arm.

Both neutered toms, I think.

Why? I know I play badly, do they think so too?

Hi

My cat, George, is sitting on my desk staring at the computer screen with that "all humans are moronic slaves" look on his face. I am sure that he knows the answer.

My experience is that all cats are psychopathic control freaks and attention seekers. Well, either that or your musical abilities are so much worse than you thought.

Cats and dogs here sounds way better than we do, they have a sensitive ear you might say. If you are hitting notes than are effecting him then he might either run, stop and look or attack, they are not so much listening to the whole song but each note, try and see if they react to certain notes or just hit one note, any note and see, it might be the pitch of each one. One of my cats came to me and put their paw on my face every time I sneezed, don't know why, but I figure she knew it was not a normal thing and wanted to know why I was making such a weird sound. We don't know what they hear, and HOW they hear things, but they do communicate thru tones (scent, sight and body language) themselves.

I had a cat like that.
She'd go absolutely crazy.
Had her cling to my leg, while I walked through the house playing the recorder at one time.
Sitting down playing the guitar, she would jump on my shoulder, trying to reach down to the strings.
When I locked her out, she's meow and start scratching the door.

It must have been really bad for her, while her sister was never bothered.

But if he doesn't like it why stay in the room?

I wondered if he thought I was a queen on heat or something.

Yes Wolf, of course all cats are....., thats why we love them. Even if you daren't stretch out in bed or your toes will be attacked.
