Is it ok to bath your cat , i tend to wash her when she seems to be scratching alot , i get the old flea shampoo out and put her in , she didn't like it at first but is ok now , sambrooks hates when you dry her with the towel .Any tips ?

You can get special cat and kitten shampoo. Make sure she is dry before you let her out. Don't do it more than you really have to as it takes the oil out of their coats and this helps keep them warm and waterproof.

Thanks for that lankeela , i only really bath her every 2 to 3 months. She was going out a lot and coming back in all states, she is a pretty clean cat really.

Cats normally HATE to be bathed but we had to do this on one occasion when he arrived home covered in oil. Suggest you put on your oldest clothes and do it in a little warm water with baby shampool in the bathroom with the door firmly closed. Then shower off as quickly as possible with warm water and towel off with a soft towel. I know you say she doesn't like a towel but don'tt use a hairdrier as the noise and unexpected heat will probably traumatise her even more. Follow quickly with lots of cuddles and a special food treat to make her forget the experience as quickly as possible.

it is true cats dont like water and probably will scratch you but I found it quite easier if you put an old towel in the bottom of the tub and only put enough water til it reaches the towel then put the cat in the tub on top of the towel and they feel safer that way
