why doe my CAT LOVE licking plastic?

could someone please tell my why my cat crystal seems "obsesed" with licking plastic, be it a carrier bag or anything! (plasic bags seem to be her favorite)thanks.

I could be wrong, but its probably tasting the oils in the plastic.

We have two cats and one of them (Cassie) loves plastic..she even goes as far as dribbling some times. I always put it down to the smell that it gives off.

I googled it, and it turns out, that they are either 'tasting' the odour, or just like the feel, so coolbeastie has it right.

My cat Cassie loves plastic too - many a times i've picked up a carrier bag, to find it has only one handle!!!

She loves the taste of the lip cream Blistex too.

Cats love the rustling noise of carrier bags.

My two cats love to chew the narrow handles of carrier bags. In my case they're probably just cleaning their teeth.
