Missing Cat

Hi my cat has gone missing since Saturday. Have put a card in the local shop window and been up and down the street, knocking at doors to keep a look out for her. I now feel really concerned that something has happened to her. Would a squirell or fox go to attack a cat? why would a cat go off? we have had her for 9 years and she seemed ok. I'm scared shes hurt and cannot make it home.

Sorry to hear about your cat - I know what it feels like as a few of ours in the past have gone missing for a short length of time.

There are many reasons why a cat might go off - it might just be that she ventured a little further than normal, or someone has taken to feeding her in the area. Often there'll be a little article in our local newspaper saying that a cat has gone missing - more people will read the paper, and someone might recognise her and get in contact. Having worked at the paper myself I know this happened a few times - people were either feeding the cat or spotted it in their garden.

Cats are very independent animals - hopefully she'll turn up soon. Good luck.

Knowing how curious they are it'spossible she has got shut in somebody's shed or garage and they've gone away for a few days. (Happened to our cat once). We have lots of foxes around our area and they and the cats seem to ignore each other and I certainly don't think a squirrel would attack a cat. It's possible she may have been in a road accident. Contact your local police station and vets in case somebody has taken her in and put a big note out wrapped in a clear plastic bag to protect it from rain on your front gate post. Do hope she returns soon.

Hooray my cat has been found, in a neighbours garden shed. I cried and my cat could not make out what the fuss was all about! Thanks for your concern. Its made my day I can sleep now.
