Moths in a bird cage

I have 2 love birds in a large home made cage. For the last 2 years, huge numbers of moths seem to breed in every joint of the wood, ceader balls have been used to no avail, also regular cleansing. I have a bug zapper right next to the cage also. Any ideas on a safe method to eradicate them would be welcomed.

I suggest you dont use any chemicals when the birds are in the cage but try to borrow a cage from someone and then disinfect your own but be sure to use one that is safe for the birds from the petshop the lovebirds will be happy enough in a budgie cage be give them a dark corner to hide so they are not too exposed . What kind are they as I used to breed peach-faced mutations

Thankyou so much for your reply, had given up hope of an answer. Been away for a few days but will now try your suggestions. If it does not work I will try re-homing the birds. One must be a peached faced, not sure as no expert, they are just such lovely little birds, mum now wants then to be re-housed as she is partially sighted, and feels she not doing them any favours, which I find very sad as she looks after them so very well, all except the moths of course. Any offers of a good home is welcomed.
