How can I stop another cat from attacking my own??
11 Answers
Hi
I moved home 8 months ago, my cat who is a very active 12 year old does not wonder far from home. This other black cat keeps spitting at her and attacking her. My cat would not hurt a fly. Any suggestions what I could do??
Thanks

If your cat is not a fighter maybe you should give her some lessons on running. Lets face it cats fight, and they fight dirty. Any advantage your cat has is for the best.
I laughed at twain's answer .
Good luck

Cats are territorial, and your cat is having its card marked by the incumbent top cat, who obviously feels like enforcing its message beyond the necessary.
Water will deter it from coming round - since your cat has shown she knows her place, there is no mileage in the top cat fighting for a place - so he / she should get tired pretty quickly when a shower is the result of a show of strength.

I have the same problem except my cat is the attacker! There are lots of very sociable cats in my neighbourhood but unfortunately my rather nasty cat is in the process of scaring them all away. I would echo the advice above, water will deter the cat without hurting it. I'm often out in my own garden with the hosepipe trying to save my neighbours' cats from getting savaged.
