Cat Litter

Can anyone tell me where the most hygenic place to have cat litter in the house... taking into consideration that I have a small child...???

Mine is in the downstairs loo and my kids never touched it when young now they do their fair share of changing it though, its emptied evey day and poop scooped throughout the day hope this helps

When we had cats the litter tray was kept in the kitchen. Hardly the most hygienic place you would think, but in all the years we had them none of us ever died of food poisoning and the tray was cleaned out regularly. (My grandmother always used to say "You have to eat a peck of dirt before you die", and I'm inclined to believe her !!)
