Distance learning course
2 Answers
Hi, I have received information on a distance learning course in Veterinary Assistant which costs 479. When complete I would receive a DCA Diploma. I am interested in getting into some form of animal care when I leave my current job in 12 months time so studying towards what I want to get into seems like the right thing to do. My only concern is that maybe this course is useless. Has anyone done one of these courses and is it worth the money? I work full time at the moment so it seems like my only option. Any feedback will be very much appreciated. Thanks x

Instead, have a look around the local colleges and see if there are any part-time courses that might be relevant. They're far cheaper and are likely to be accredited to an 'industry' recognised award.
You could do a lot worse than speak to a couple of vets to see what they look for when recruiting. It would be unusual not to have some of sort of NVQ in place that you could study for 'on the job'.
