Yuck! How can i stop cats pooing in my soil?
6 Answers
Can anyone tell me of any cheap stuff i can put on my soil to stop cats pooing on it each time i dig it up? I tried some 'Cats off' from wilkinsons which was about 3.99 but after a couple of days the poo was back! Plus i can't afford to buy this on a weekly basis. Is there any household stuff i can use at all, obviously i don't want to harm the cats just get them to leave my garden alone!
thanks in anticipation.

(OK I may have exaggerated there, but seemed a waste of money anyway)
As a cat owner, I'm afraid there's not much you can do. You could try throwing water at them (not too much tho, there's no need to be cruel) they might then get the message and find somewhere else, but of course that relies on you catching them 'in the act'.
Also, there're some plants which cats don't like. Have a look here...

cats need to put their bottom down to poo, so if you can put some small sticks/twigs into any bare soil, this should stop them. I have a gravelled front garden with ornamental grasses and the cats started to come and use that mainly for spraying on, I found by shaking neat white vinegar all over the gravel it stopped them coming, I repeated it several times as it rained, but now I don't have any trouble, don't know if it would work on soil, but might be worth a try as it is cheap.
