Have any other ABers used this product in the water bowl for their dogs?. If so have you found it has any effect on the dog? I have only just found this in my local pet store and with the onset of the hot weather I am keen to try all manner of things to keep my dogs comfortable. I have never heard of rock sulphur and Googling it brings up many suppliers not what it is or its' properties. It claims to "cool the blood" .Mabye I should add some to my water ???!!!!

Just had a call from a friend who took some juice to a dog show, and she made it with the water from the dogs bottle, which contained rock sulphur! She said it tasted a bit gritty, but she did feel cool!

I used to use it when Ihad my first GSD, and although there is no visible evidence it works, it certainly won't do any harm. It must do something, or people would stop selling it.
When I was child and we had a dog, my dad always used to put it in the water. When the dog we have now was younger, she used to itch and bite terribly so I bought some and put it in the water. Seemed to cool her down.
It does work if you can get the little devils to actually drink the water! My dog had a slab in his water dish and wouldn't drink until we took it out but our neighbours dog would drink freely and was far more settled and chilled through the summer - both the same breed by the way so no difference apart from the rock sulphur. It replaces the natural salts that they lose in hot weather.
