Little fliey things!

I thought the dog had fleas as there were these little 'things keep landing on us in the living room but although these things look like fleas they're not,they have wings,they're not midgies and have probably been about for years but i havent noticed,,must've been walking around with my eyes shut,anyway what are they,please,thanx!!

mosquitoes I expect, loads of them about this year.

Not the biggest insect expert but arent mosquitoes bigger and sort of pointy bummed,these things are tiny,flea sized!

I am an expert, well Pest Controller actually, and yes they could well be mosquitoes, some are very small, smaller than fleas, you are probably aware that fleas have no wings.

Yeah thats what convinced me they cant be fleas,they look so similiar but fly,worried me for a while but they def have wings,thought mossies were bigger,never considered they could be them!!

there are different mossies electric - The ones i remember from brittany were about the size of a cat (maybe a slight exaggeration), whereas canarian mossies are very much smaller and don't cause nearly so satisfying a blood spplat ont he wall when you get one

Do you have any pot plants indoors, maybe one that's looking a bit sick? You sometimes get tiny black flies called thrips (I know, stupid name) hovering around plants that are not thriving. These flies often get disturbed when you water the plants and they tend to be noticed more against a light background - like when they fly across your vision when you're watching the TV.

Only own one living plant in living room,its very surprisingly ALIVE and well,i'm wondering if i can get a pic of one of the flies if i can get it too sit still long enough!!Its exactly like a flea,but has wings??
