Our neighbours who are, well,a bit slow and who we have had several run-ins with have just come knocking at my door telling me their black german shepherd has just had puppies in the conservatory, they didnt know she was pregnant, they also have 2 more dogs, the bitch isnt letting anyone near the pups, they claim she was pregnant when they got her,but they have had her longer than 9 weeks, what worries me is the other dogs have to go into the conservatory to get in the garden,i have a bad feeling about this, they have NO idea of what to do with pups, they can just get close enough to give the bitch milk.Should i ring someone or just leave them to it,cheers!

When they are old enough to be weaned, they could try one of the rescue organisations and see if they will help rehome them.

personally i would get some one that knows what they are doing
if anything is wrong with any of the pups you wont know and you wont be able to get near them to help the em either
so i take it they will not have been checked for cleft pallate or any abnormalties or the mum for any after affects also if she wont let anyone near what if she gets an infection her self
THEN WHAT ARE THEY GONNA DO
believe me if u cant get near them now
you sure wont later
and how hard is it gonna be to rehome puppies when people see how aggressive the bitch is
PLEASE GET SOME EXPERT HELP
i have bred shepherds & labs so i know exspecially the g.s.d
hope this helps

I understand that lell,we've had 2 litters over the years and both times our germans have been good as gold when having the pups, our first girl stood up during birth and dropped the pups into hubbys hands,so to have next door with a dog that wont let anyone near, this is common place these people are scared of the dogs, this is why i'm worried about it,!
yer mine where like yours great
but as for this one at your slightly dim next door neighbour
i would be very worried also
big recipe for a desaster
can you not get them to ring their vet and see if they can come out to her and sort this
awful situation out in some way
i am really worried about this more so for the pups
but at the end of the day you can only advise
if these people wont listern to good advice then
it sounds like to me they are going to have big big problems when they really need to get to either the mum or the puppies
but at least you have tried keeep us posted on the future events wont you would like to know how this awful situation will turn out
good luck electricblue

Seems to me since they asked for your help they at least realize they don't know what they're doing. If you're the closest thing to an expert they know, you should feel free to give them advice -- of course in as friendly a way as possible. I'm guessing they don't have a vet, so you could offer yours and help them get in touch with other resources. What do THEY think they want to do with the pups? I hope they don't plan to keep any.
