Slugs again I'm afraid
11 Answers
I have heard that copper wire is a good deterant (spellcheck) for slugs. Which is great as I don't like using pellets, I haven't got time to crush egg shells and i don't want to waste my beer.
So what i want to know is where can you buy copper wire from? Been looking for a year now but to no avail. And these fat slimey buggers think its time to eat all my favourite plants again!! Please help?!?!?

A quick Google search returned these pages: http://www.k-wire.com/product-COPPER%20WIRE.html
and http://www.wires.co.uk/.
Wires.co.uk seems to sell all sorts of stuff like that. For more sites, go to www.google.co.uk and type (with quotes): order "copper wire". Alternatively, eBay.co.uk might have auctions for cheaper wire. Thanks for the posts (I never knew the one about chilli powder - maybe our pond is finally cat-proof!)
Maplin are an electronic store. (in the UK) you can find them at: http://www.maplin.co.uk.
They have high street outlets, usually off the main highstreets the web site will probably be able to tell you if ther eis one near you. You can also order online. If you are not in the UK my applologies.

moogy - if you're still around, I think I've found what you need. It's called 'Fito Slug Stoppa Tape" and it's a copper tape that fits around tubs etc and works even after rain. The same company also does granules. There is a link that shows you what it looks like. Now - where to get it? Garden centres, or garden shops. I've seen it at Haskins, but Ferndown is a bit far for you, so the nearest place I can think of is Stewarts at Christchurch - massive place!
