That's Labs for you, get him used to being vacuumed, they think its great fun when they get used to the idea.
Put on some rubber gloves, ie marigolds and brush him using your finger tips, not too hard though. I do this when my jack russell is moulting and it gets rid of loads of hairs that would otherwise be deposited around the house and they love the attention. Hope this helps.

That is what Labrador's do best. :)

well i will hoover him at the same time as my house. lmao. people have told me about tablets to stop the fur fallin out but nobody seems to know where to get them or wat they are called :( well, a new use for me marigolds! thanks everyone.
Please tell me you were not serious about getting rid of your dog just because he is moulting?????

I won't bother to ask any more in case you were.
You can't give a dog a tablet to stop them moulting..... they moult for a reason!!
I am always amazed that people go out and buy a dog without reading up on the breed etc. No offence, but if you didn't want a pet that molts .... why did you buy this breed of dog????? It isn't the dog's fault. So, if you found hair on your sofa or in your sink, left by your child or partner (if you have either), would you want to get rid of them too?????? THINK, please!!!!! But, now that you have him and hopefully will love him and KEEP him.....

If you don't want to use normal rubber gloves, most pet shops sell a grooming mitten that is excellent for removing excess hair and the dogs love them as they (the gloves, not the dogs!) have little nobbly bits that give a bit of a massage. These gloves are not expensive and give a lovely shine to the coat as well.

Good luck!
I have a cross GSlab ..I put vitapet moult formula on his food ..it does help and keeps his coat lovely and glossy...but I also have him groomed professionally every couple of months. This all helps to keep the hair down a bit ..but if you keep a dog it's a fact of life that they shed.
how would you like it if someone made you keep your thick winter coat on in these temperatures?? beggars belief
they do manufacture tabs for reduce shedding don't know if you get it across the pond..

Furminator makes products for less shedding..
go to petsmart.com and type in Furminator and hit go, it will show you a tool and products to reduce shedding, everyone I have talked to with this stuff say they like it and it helps...I can't afford it right now, or I would get it, it also can't be used ALL the time, read the instructions before you use it, if you can find or get one over there.
