budgie problems

My mum eventually got a lovely baby budgie, very tame, and he was coming out of the cage regularly . Then he started to moult and presumably lost his flight feather because he suddenly just kept landing on the floor. This has been about 3 weeks now (he is 4 months old) and i wonder if anyone can tell me if this is normal, if so how long will it be before he can fly again? or shall we consult the vet ?
help needed asap please.

Hi Silver, I may be wrong but i think if he is losing his feathers he may be stressed or it might be a sign of underlying problems, it is always wise to see a vet if you are concerned and they can put your mind at rest! Hope budgie is ok soon!

I had a budgie for years and it never lost its flight feathers. Definatly worth seeking professional help
