What does woohoo mean? Where did it come from?

'Woohoo!' is a sort of whoop of joy along the lines of 'Hurrah!' I suspect it came from Homer in The Simpsons.

I didn't 'come' from Homer, but was made popular by him

It could be the US equivalent of "hurray". Perhaps a corruption of "yahoo".

it means the same as yipee, has been around a lot longer than Homer
