Yesterday i saw a crow swoop at and attack a hapless jogger. He heard me creasing up and explained that the crow had been chasing him down the road and was attracted to his white t-shirt! Can anyone explain this or has anyone else had any other hitchcock-style killer crow experiences?

I've never heard of crows being attracted to white T-shirts. I would prefer to believe that crows are very protective creatures and it is breeding somewhere closeby.
A magpie coloured crow common in Australia becomes so viscious at breeding time that it will even dive-bomb cattle if they come in the general area of their nest.
Don't know about crows, but it seems it's the seagulls you should look out for! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/2097600.stm
very territorial birds i've seen them on many occasions fighting off buzzards, which are twice maybe three times the size of a crow.
Was the guy wearing anything shiny? Because I know crows (and other such birds like magpies, ravens, etc) are for some reason attracted to shiny objects. A park ranger once told me that there's been cases of crows actually taking people's keys and other shiny objects right off their picnic tables!
They are very teritorial and prob had a nest of young near by.
