It isn't, it has to do with water depth and sea bottom and the weather and the way our eyes perceive light and colour I believe

becaue that's the sea's favorite color.
it is because of wavelengths and particles. A glass of water is tinted blue but you cant see it as there isn't much water but if you look at the sea there is a large amount of water so the blue more intense so you can see it clearly.
