Stripped Tomatoes
4 Answers
I mentioned to my gaffer that the dead leaves on the tomato plants could do with with cutting off. When I returned home later,I couldn't believe my eyes,my poor tomatoes were stood there on stems alone, she'd lopped all the the leaves off. There are about a dozen plants with approx 25 tomatoes on each. What I would like to know,is,should I pick all the green ones for chutney or something,or will they survive and ripen. Afraid i've never come across anything like this,so don't have a clue

You could also pick some & put them in a shallow dish on a sunny windowsill with one ripe in which helps to speed up the process.
Must admit Robinia, the poor things do look rather funny, like something a child would draw. Sunny Spell?! Well I suppose if you count yesterday and today as a sunny spell, then we're having one :) I will try and ripen a few indoors, but hopefully when I've googled,i'll find a green chutney recipe I fancy
