Animals V Humans Reproductively
Animals have ovaries and a womb just like humans so why is it when we are on our period we don't get pregnant but yet an animal has to be "in season" to get pregnant?

All mammals have a cycle and come in to season at certain times depending on the species but most don't bleed. I'm not as strong on canine reproduction as other animals but I know bitches bleed and from what I know about other animals I think they probably get pregnant towards the end of this bleeding because it's the start of a new cycle. A few humans with short cycles can get pregnant during the end part of the bleeding but it's unusual.
...mmm...as a "fancier" in the rabbit world I know that a rabbit differs from other mammals in that the female ovulates only after being mounted by a male. This is called induced ovulation. Other mammals differ in their method.
So very different from the human "animal" which ovulates in a set monthly cycle and only presents the egg for fertilization at a precise time in this "period" ...being actually "on your period" would indicate that it is too late for fertilization as the "egg" and it's accompanying "regalia", for want of a better word, is being ejected ready for the next cycle..........
