where can i find ladybirds to introduce into our garden without having to but the eggs ?

If you create the right environment for them they will appear and stay. One of the best methods is to purchase a ladybird house / home / cabin. Usually cost about �20, and is something like a birdbox with honeycomb inside. This provides somewhere for them to overwinter and they will be there when you need them the following year. You should also plant some of their favourite plants like vetches, thistles, hibiscus, passiflora and buddleia. And don't kill the aphids in your garden ..... leave them for the ladybirds.
