Why did one of my goldfish turn white?

Hi, I have 2 larg goldfish, about 8 inches each. They both were gold now only one is gold and the other is white. he doesn't look sick. Any ideas?

hey, im studying a degree in animal behaviour and welfare and to the best of my knowledge its just old age!! like when old people get grey hairs because the hair folicles loose their coulour or whatever... the same is happening in your goldfish, trhe scales are just loosing their orange pigmentation. so they are fine.. just cracking on a bit!!

My goldfish was orange and black.First the black went when the goldfish was young and now it's about 6 years old some of the orange is going white.Fish do change colour I have learnt from some friends that own Koi so don't worry!

The heron is to be blammed so many of my koi have gone
