Specify the Gender

What with the obtuse names people give themselves would it not be possible to include the gender with each posting. One person was given some personal advice on a discrete matter only to find that he was of the opposite gender to that intended. Highly embarrassing for both of them I would have thought.

sorry- think that's a terrible idea, many people like the anonymity that this site offers, including what gender they are, and if that's the way they want it to stay, that's fair enough.

Sooner or later you give away things about yourself. If you look at all my answers, for example, you'll eventually work out a fair amount of my taste in music, that I like sausage rolls, that I'm probably a bit left-wing and very much a preacher of tolerance, that I'm over 16, that I'm an asthmatic, and that I'm either male or a lesbian.

Or you could just read it here. And also, if you lie people figure it out...nobody really believes Ward~Minter about a whole range of things, for example.

Especially the ones that don't even know themselves what gender they are...change more times than the errmm weather.

As for the ones that have numerous names, they are even more confused.

tut, don't be such a nosy... person. Good advice is good advice whatever gender it comes from (though anecdotes from personal experience may be of less use)... B00's advice, for instance, is always so good she could almost be male... So I won't be revealing anything about my gender.
