My male cat is just over a year old and I have never had any problems with him peeing or anything anywhere other than outside or in his litter tray. This weekend my boyfriend was staying and his friend also stayed for one night. My cat peed on the sleeping bag the friend used but we discovered last night that he had also peed in my boyfriend's bag of clothes. Can anyone think of any reason he might be doing this? Bearing in mind I have been with my boyfriend for five months now so the cat is used to seeing him practically every weekend! Thanks

The only suggestion I have is that sometimes my cats have peed in inappropiate places-ie my bed, the doormat, plastic bags etc this activity tends to increase if they feel they are being ignored or if I have left them alone for the night, I conclude that they do this for attention or because they feel insecure or maybe a combination. Either way its not pleasant & also embarressing as people without cats would never understand!
Amia, just don't give your cat too much attention while your boyfriend is there - or he might start weeing in the laundry basket........!
